The History Of At The Name Of Jesus{Eye Opener}

The History Of At The Name Of Jesus{Eye Opener}

It first appeared in Mrs. Noel’s The Name of Jesus and Other Poems of 1870 and was intended as a processional for Ascension Day.

Based on  Philippians 2:9, this song.

I’ll give you Philippians 2:8–10, “He became obedient to the point of death, even the death on the cross, and humbly humbled Himself.”

God also greatly elevated Him and gave Him a name above every name so that every knee should bow to mention His name.

The author is a descendant of an Anglican priest.

She was bedridden during the final 25 years of her life due to a debilitating disease, and most of her time was devoted to writing hymns for other patients.

Caroline Maria Noel had attempted to write poetry before being ill, but she gave up.

This, however, changed when she became disabled because she made the most of her predicament to write several poetry and hymns

Below Are The Lyrics Of ‘At The Name Of Jesus’ Hymn.

1) At the Name of Jesus, every knee shall bow,

Every tongue confesses Him King of glory now;

‘Tis the Father’s pleasure we should call Him Lord,

Who from the beginning was the mighty  Word.

2) Mighty and mysterious in the highest height,

God from everlasting, very light of light:

In the Father’s bosom with the spirit blest,

Love, in love eternal, rest, in perfect rest.

3) At His voice, creation sprang at once to sight,

All the angel faces, all the hosts of light,

Thrones and dominations, stars upon their way,

All the heavenly orders, in their great array.

4) Humbled for a season to receive a name

From the lips of sinners unto whom He came,

Faithfully He bore it, spotless to the last,

Brought it back victorious when from death He passed.
